Maximilian Karl started his PhD at the Technical University of Munich in 2014. In 2017 he joined the Volkswagen Group ML Research Lab as a research scientist. He holds a Masters degree in Robotics, Cognition, Intelligence from the Technical University of Munich. His work focusses on unsupervised learning and efficient variational inference methods for time series modelling. He is also interested in the application of information theory to stochastic control and unsupervised control.
